Dimm Slots 1 And 2 Not Working

- Dimm Slots 1 And 2 Not Working Remotely
I recently bought 3 more sticks of RAM (6GB) from Newegg to upgrade onto my computer. When I put one stick of RAM next to my currently installed stick, the computer won't display anything on the monitor and there is no beep from the internal speakers. So I mixed the RAM sticks up a bit, trying to see if any combination would work, and the finally I got it to work in the first and third RAM slot. I need help as to why I can't seem to add more RAM.
System Specs:
Mobo: ASUS M4A7TD-M evo
RAM: Crucial XMS 2GB DDR3 (X4)
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

If 2 of 4 slots (alternating ones) work to support dual channel memory, keep using them, but random PC crashes still occur. If only a single working RAM slot (till it stops working), try a single 16GB RAM, but since they are expensive, it is better to invest in a new CPU and check warranty status on the old one. Fill your slots starting with the largest density and working to the smallest (put the largest module in slot 0, and the second largest in slot 1, and so on). Some systems go in reverse order, so if this doesn't work, try reversing the procedure. Page 1-23 in the manual; (2) Supports two (2) modules inserted into either the red slots or the black slots as onepair of Dual-channel memory con guration. We suggest that you install the modulesinto slots A2 and B2 for better compatibility. If the printer has an 8 MB flash DIMM in DIMM slot 1, then replace the DIMM. The 8 MB flash DIMM will not work in any DIMM slot other than DIMM slot 1. 53.x2.zz Printer (DIMM Slot 2) error.
